Group: Feedback for Pitch

After we presented our pitch we were asked questions concerning aspects of our concept that the class was unsure of. This is the feedback that we received after our pitch:

> People were unclear of the purpose of the dancers.
- We explained how we were planning on having dancers in our video because it is a genre characteristic of the dance music genre and we wanted to add a lightness to the serious topic we want to portray. We did not provide any practise shots or examples of how we were going to shoot them and there were concerns on what the purpose of them even was.

- We have had a discussion on the fact that we want the dancers to represent the character's frame of mind. They will have gold painted in a line across their eyes in order to take away their identity and individuality because we want them to simply represent that he is in a very joyous and elevated mood. The dancers will be absent while he is depressed to follow this.

>There were concerned about Isaac's portrayal of bi-polar.
- In order for Isaac to portray an accurate representation of bipolar we are going to brief him on all the research we have done so that he is highly knowledgeable on the subject. We will direct him in all the shots to change his non-verbal language accordingly.

- When he is portraying depression we will make sure that he doesn't make any eye-contact with the camera; that he doesn't interact with any other people in the shot; that he has neutral facial expressions; and that his movements are slow. During the scenes of him being ecstatic we want to make sure that he has a lot of energy in his movements and that he seems incredibly focused and that his facial expressions portray joy.

>Some members of the class were unsure how the video would end up looking with the vast array of techniques we have planned to use.
- There were concerns that we had too many ideas and that it would make the video look unfocused and unprofessional. They explained that we needed to concentrate on certain aspects that we could execute at a high quality. So that all of us in the group could have the same vision on how the video will end up we went to Alex's house after the media lesson and wrote down the timings next to each lyric and wrote next to it which technique we would like to use. This can be seen on the blog post Group: Development 14th October.

- A specific query from Dan was how we would create the kaleidoscope effect that we had planned for because it isn't an effect that is available on Premier. Alex has this effect on her own editing software: FinalCut Pro X and we have created an example video so we could practice with the effect and demonstrate how we wish to achieve it.

>People were unsure about how much of the video was narrative and how we would mix in the conceptual shots.
-This has also been established in the post where we wrote all the shot ideas and what we would like to happen

>What would visually be on screen when Isaac is portraying his depressed state.
We have considered his non-verbal language and have decided to do close ups and have little eye contact with the camera and with neutral facial expression. Also at the start of his narrative we will suggest his consideration of suicide through location and his non-verbal language.
[add in the screen shots from that video]
